The Kansas City Invitational will draw more than 406 teams from 12 states and generate an estimated $7 million in local economic impact
OVERLAND PARK & OLATHE, Kan., May 20, 2026 — Heartland Soccer Association, the largest youth soccer league and tournament host in the United States, is preparing to welcome thousands of players, coaches and families to the Kansas City Invitational Presented by CH Roofing & Exteriors, taking place May 22–24 at Scheels Overland Park Soccer Complex and Garmin Olathe Soccer Complex.
Held annually over Memorial Day weekend, the Kansas City Invitational has become one of the region’s premier youth soccer tournaments, attracting more than 406 teams from 12 states. The large number of visiting teams and families is expected to generate an estimated $7 million in economic impact for the Kansas City area, supporting local hotels, restaurants, and businesses.
“This is one of our largest and most competitive spring tournaments, and it highlights the strong regional appeal of Heartland Soccer events,” said Shane Hackett, executive director of Heartland Soccer Association. “We’re excited to welcome teams from across the Midwest and proud to host them at two of the finest soccer facilities in the nation.”
In partnership with VidSport, all matches played at Garmin Olathe Soccer Complex will be live-streamed and available on demand. As the world’s largest fixed AI camera network at a soccer-specific complex, VidSport allows fans to watch matches from any device while also providing individual player highlights to support athlete development, recruitment, and game analysis.
Media are invited to cover the event. Games kick off Friday at 5:30 p.m., with full-day match schedules on Saturday and Sunday beginning at 8 a.m.
The Kansas City 3v3 Challenge, set for June 20, will round out the Heartland Soccer spring tournament calendar. Looking ahead, the Fall Tournament Series begins in August, with registration now open for all seven tournaments in the series.
