Heartland Invitational Tournament Kicks Off with Sold Out All Girls Weekend

Youth soccer tournament set to bring in an estimated economic impact of $5.9 million

OVERLAND PARK/OLATHE, Kan. – Heartland Soccer Association, America’s largest youth soccer league and tournament host, will kick off its first of two weekends of the Heartland Invitational Tournament starting this Friday, November 4th at the SCHEELS Overland Park Soccer Complex and the Garmin Olathe Soccer Complex. The Girls (Nov. 4-6) and Boys (Nov. 11-13) tournaments will host 800 teams between the two weekends of play.

With teams traveling in from all over the Kansas City metropolitan area and various states, the economic impact is estimated to be $5.9 million over the weekend.

“The Heartland Invitational continues its reputation as the biggest and best tournament in the Kansas City area; split over two weekends (Girls weekend and Boys weekend) to accommodate the number of teams wanting a chance to compete one last time,” explained Shane Hackett, Heartland Soccer executive director. “We are excited to host thousands of players, coaches and families for the first weekend of the Heartland Invitational Tournament.”

Considering the importance of local media to our sport, we encourage and invite the media to attend and cover the event! The first set of games will start at 5:30PM on Friday. Saturday and Sunday games will begin at approximately 8:00AM with the award ceremonies starting after noon on Sunday.
